For ages people have been asking for an auto version of the world famous Strider SnG folder.
It made perfect sense for Strider to team up with ProTech Knives to create the automatic version of the SnG. It was important to Strider to not only to team up with an industry leader in automatics, but one that manufactures 100% in a state of the art USA facility.
When you handle the ProTech SnG, it will feel instantly familiar. It is identical in size to the "flat" or "standard" profile SnG. Even the titanium pocket clip is in the exact same position as a manual frame-lock SnG.
Much care was taken in keeping true to the original with the machined G10 side having the integrated backspacer secured to the stonewashed stainless steel frame. The difference of course being the firing button that is perfectly recessed to prevent accidental firing, however with the milled relief, easy to find and activate when needed.
This mid-custom variation with 416 steel back and integral G-10 top side/backspacer will be limited to just a few hundred each year as the time to machine the 416 stainless steel as well as all the special diamond tooling to cut the G-10 is very time consuming.
Over the next while we look forward to introducing an aluminum handle "production" priced model as well as sneaking out some totally custom SnG autos with full titanium frames and Mick Strider hand ground blades.
